Good stuff: It was clean

Bad stuff: Room in need of refurbishment. Wallpaper peeling off walls

Overall: We would like to commend the Phillipine mature member of staff who gave us information on how to travel around London. He was most pleasant and patient. He really did make a difference to our stay, because he took the time to talk to us as he gave information. Please pass on our thanks and appreciation to him. I hope his renumeration reflects the outstanding service he gives to the hotel.

Good stuff: It was good value for money, at London prices, the staff were welcoming & friendly.

Bad stuff: Remote controls for TV, better soundproofing, tube trains passing underneath, thin bedroom walls, creaking floorboards!

Overall: My ensuite single room was about the size i'd expected, i.e small with a narrow single bed but at the price i had no complaints. I like the Bayswater area, its safe and has a good atmosphere. My room on the 4th floor was adequate but the TV looked like something from the 1980's (or before) with no remote control. The hotel is right over the Underground so expect trains rumbling past early in the morning and late at night. The walls are also fairly thin and i could hear my neighbours. Breakfast was buffet style with a good English and continental selection though customer service could be more personalised. breakfast was a bit like feeding time at the zoo with everyone backwards and forwards serving themselves, tea and coffee and toast served at the table would have been a more personal touch. Overall the hotel was good value, and while i wouldn't want to spend any great time there it's good for a value for money overnight stay and i would certainly use it again.

Bad stuff: If anything no TV remote, it was generally that good.

Overall: The hotel was well presented and everyone very friendly, the guest checking out just before i checked in was very rude but the clerk still addresses me with a smile and was extremely friendly. The location was ideal.

Overall: very pleased with hotel and cannot understand why more internal pictures of the hotel are shown on the internet to attract more customers. comfortable well equipped room. disapointed by unwelcoming bar and restaurant staff
